A Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader was critically injured in a shooting incident that occurred in Mathura, West Bengal on Sunday night.
According to local sources, the TMC leader, who was traveling on his bike from Santoshpur, was allegedly followed by some individuals who shot him from the side. The police and local authorities are currently investigating the incident and have started questioning the local people. It is unclear whether the reason for the shooting was personal enmity or politically motivated. The TMC leader's family members claim to have no knowledge of the assailants' motives.
The victim, identified as Abu Toya, is involved in farming as well as the TMC and is an active TMC worker, according to one of his rescuers. The police are in contact with the victim and his family and are monitoring his condition closely. The local TMC leadership has not yet commented on the incident.
